The department of Civil Engineering  prepares students for handling  big projectssuch as designing bridges,  industrial buildings, dams, harbors, canals  and  buildings. Special emphasis is laid on the courses of concrete and steel design. The students are given theoretical insight which is supplemented by rigorous practical  training in the well equipped labs. Civil Engineering has entered another area of human  concern that is of  Environmental Engineering. This relatively new branch of  knowledge  has  come to  assume a role where in every individual and the whole world is concerned.
